Hi everyone.
I wanted to do a post today about "perspective" and how it can change. This comes after I heard that two aunties of a friend of mine have passed away. In the middle of exams and university applications, or any other remotely stressful time, it's easy to think that your life is without a doubt the most important thing you can think about.
But even I stopped to think today for a few minutes, at just how small and trivial my problems are compared to what other people may have to face. It's also easy to try and play down the idea of death, but when events like this happen, it really is difficult to continue to. There are still lots of things I don't understand. One minute something can be there, the next minute it's gone.
These are some photos which I have posted before but which I have edited (so shoot me!), which show, to me, different perspectives. You can make any story you like out of them... for me photos are thought provoking and help to bring a creative side out of people. I'll talk about each photo. For the first, a photo of Ai Weiwei's Sunflower Seeds at the Tate, a piece of art I very much enjoyed visiting and reading about. I found the description by Ai Weiwei next to the installation particularly interesting as it asked who we are as individuals (more in relation to China's population) within a mass of people. The second photo was one I took in Paris on the Champs Elysées. I don't have a lot to say about it, I mean, almost every blogger has taken a photo on the champs elysées right? But what I like about this photo most is the woman in the white coat and what her story might be. And then onto the third photo which was taken from an old shelter on Brighton Beach.
Things look better in black and white, right?
Have a great weekend everyone x
